Porcine liver transplantation
This workshop intends to instruct young surgeons in the field of transplant
medicine in operative procedures of donor procurement, organ preservation
and transplantation.

and proteomics technologies.

The following experiments will be conducted
by the participants and the faculty using a mouse strain deficient of
the Fas gene as model:
- Identification of the Fas mutation at
the genomic level using allele-specific PCR and DNA-sequencing
- Investigating the effect of the Fas mutation on genome-wide gene
expression using Affymetrix microarrays
- Investigating the effect of the Fas mutation of the proteome using
two-dimensional gel electrophoresis and mass spectrometry
- Use of local and public bioinformatics
tools to analyze the data
