Call For Abstracts
Free presentations will be accepted and presented as a part of the
scientific session. Abstracts can be submitted according to the instructions
mentioned here. Abstracts will be accepted until 17 January 2006. Structured
abstracts should be submitted only by using the online
abstract form. An abstract book will be published as a supplement
issue of the European Surgical Research Journal and distributed to the
participants during registration.

Poster Session
Posters will be presented in sessions guided by chairpersons. Poster
presentation will include a 3-min talk in front of the poster during
the session. Participants presenting a poster are kindly requested to
additionally stay with their poster during coffee break times to allow
fruitful discussion on the scientific work presented.
The posters will be mounted in an area close to
the assembly halls on Wednesday, May 17, 2006 between 13:00 and 19:00
and should remain fixed throughout the congress time. Poster should
be in portrait form (DIN A0) and not larger than 85cm x 120cm (width
x height). Posters must include the title of the presentation, name
of the author (s), introduction, materials and methods, results, discussion
and conclusion. Fixing materials for poster mounting will be provided
at site.
Presentation Awards
The Walter Brendel Award will be elected from the 6 papers with
the highest score presented during the Walter Brendel Award session.
The prize committee includes members of the award committee. The Walter
Brendel Awardee will be announced and honoured during the Gala Dinner,
Saturday May 20, 2006.
Poster Awards: Two best poster presentations
will be selected for Poster awards (€ 250). The Poster Awardees
will be announced and honoured during the Gala Dinner, Saturday May
20, 2006.
The Young Investigator Awards (€ 500) will be selected from all
oral presentations during the course of the congress for an outstanding
presentation and discussion of scientific work. The prize committee
includes members of the award committee. The Young Researcher Awardees
will be announced and honoured during the Gala Dinner, Saturday May
20, 2006.
B. Braun Melsungen AG sponsors the B. BRAUN SCIENTIFIC AWARD (€
1.000) for an outstanding scientific work characterized by clinical
relevance and/or applicability in daily clinical routine. The committee
includes members of the award committee and a representative of the
company. The Awardee will be announced and honoured during the Gala
Dinner, Saturday May 20, 2006.
